Stanford's main EOC is at the Faculty Club. Different Stanford departments/groups maintain Satellite Operation Centers (SOCs). SUARES primary operations are conducted at the Stanford Department of Public Safety (DPS / Stanford Police) SOC, described below. We also have equipment at a few other key SOCs.
IN AN EMERGENCY: Follow the Activation Procedures. The default response location for SUARES personnel is the Stanford Department of Public Safety SOC. Some of you may have pre-assigned locations.
Access to The Compound during non-emergencies must be arranged through the SUARES Emergency Coordinator.
How to find it: This room is on the third floor directly above the cafeteria. Go to the west side of the hospital (Welch Road), and enter through the doors that lead to the cafeteria. Instead of going to the cafeteria, go up via stairs or elevator to the third floor. Stay in the "H" quadrant of the hospital. The EOC is on the west side of the third floor, through the door marked "Administration".
Unless there is a disaster, the doors may be locked, so it is best to make contact with the Duty Nurse before a drill. In a disaster, if doors are locked, go to Security and show your emergency responder ID card.
Antenna drops: In Room H3210A. Both are nice triband antennas. (There are other ham antennas at other locations)
Radios and power supply: In a case in the cabinet in room H3210 (the main EOC). The key that opens the door opens the cabinet.
This EOC conforms to the Incident Command System: in a disaster, the ham reports to the Communications Officer as usual.
Equipment is located in a locked closet in the main conference room closet. (On a rolling cart). Contact the FacOps Manager for access.
